Nan’s Egg Custard

Ingredients

  • 1 egg for every 1/2 pint of milk
  • 1/2oz sugar
  • Pinch of nutmeg

Method

  1. Heat but not boil milk
  2. Pour in lightly beaten egg and sugar
  3. Put mixture in dish sprinkle a little nutmeg on top
  4. Stand dish in a deep baking tin and pour cold water round it to prevent over heating
  5. Bake in oven 350f about 40 mins till set and light coloured.
